1. The mood of this image is sorrowful and lonely. The image is black and white, which gives it a more depressing feeling. Also, the lighting is very minimal. I believe that the photographer is trying to show that she has been left or is mourning a loss. The girl is positioned on a balcony looking down, with her arm crossed. The light is focused on her shoulder and right side of her body. She is slightly off to the right in the image, to possibly allow you to notice the door. The angle at which the image was taken is almost as if someone was watching her from the other side. This image is significant because it shows that even children can be depressed and feel pain like adults do. The lines draw your eye around the railing and stop you at the girl. The contrast between the dark railing and the white dress on the girl emphasizes her presence. Also, the railings give the image a great rhythm to guide your eye. When I look at this image it brings a sense of empathy and sadness.

2. In this image, the elderly women, and the baby are standing in a dry, open plain. The baby is peacefully sleeping on the women, but the women seems to be unhappy, and tired. Her clothes are held together with pins, which shows that she may be poor. The women is off to the right in the image. I think the image is to show the difference between young and old. The baby is in peace, happy, unaware of whats going on around her. While the elderly women is having to hold the baby and support her, while she worries about her surroundings and the stress of life. The fact that the image is black and white, shows the simplicity of the difference. Like the expression, "It's written in plain black and white," it's to show that the difference should be clear and we all should be aware. The texture of the scenery in the back round emphasizes the harshness of their living conditions. The way the women's hair is blowing gives the image movement. This image makes me feel appreciative of being young, and not fully worrying about life yet.

3. The mood of this image is freedom. This image is shot from a distance, and slightly elevated. The three men are carelessly running across the street. The lines on the road lead your eyes down the street until you can't see anymore. There is great balance and rhythm with the light poles. The exposure is very important in the process of making this image. All of the values of different greens, and reds, and yellows create unity. In this image the light is very bright, and runs throughout the whole image. The light reflects on of the street as well.

4. I feel that the mood of this image is happy, and peaceful. The women seems interested in something, and satisfied and happy in what ever if is. The women is centered in the image. The dark coat and white blouse gives the image good contrast. I believe the significance of the image is to show that not all elderly people are in distress or sad. They can be successful and happy. The fact that the women is looking back, could be that she is almost looking back on her life and is happy with what she has accomplished. The frame was put so you just focus on her face. The lighting is bright and consistent throughout the image. The balance of the picture is very good, with having two of the same earrings, and the layers of black and white on each shoulder. The photographer has a simply back round, so you focus more on the women rather than if something was behind her. This image makes me feel happy and peaceful.

5. The mood of this image is fright and depression. The man is looking down on himself, dead. An image like this could be created using a very, very low shutter speed. The meaning of this image could be to face death head on, and accept it. The dark blacks and light whites give the image great contrast. The image has much more lighting on the half with the deceased man, while that half with the live man is darker, he is also wearing dark clothes. The shadow coming off of the standing man creates a kind of mysterious figure. The placement of the dead man is more relaxed, with his fingers carefully placed on each other. This image is significant because it shows the thin line between life and death. I get a feeling of sorrow for the man.
